SpraySpy® is a laser-based measurement system designed for monitoring atomization processes in R&D and quality control activities.

It enables the simultaneous measurement of key spray parameters—droplet size and velocity, as well as droplet momentum and flux density—and can also be used in-line within the production process.

It is suitable for both transparent and non-transparent droplets, even in explosive environments (ATEX) and with electrostatic atomizers, providing the data required for the DIN SPEC standards indicated in the datasheet.

SpraySpy® - for R&D and quality control

The monitoring of atomization processes is often a key aspect of process engineering, for example in coating or spray drying applications. Many measurement techniques cannot be used in these cases, either because they are unable to measure individual droplets and their velocity, or due to the complexity of installation and operation.

To overcome these limitations, AOM-Systems developed SpraySpy—a new laser-based measurement technology. Each droplet is individually characterized based on size, velocity, and momentum. SpraySpy® is easy to use and can measure both transparent and non-transparent droplets, even in explosive environments (ATEX) or in the presence of electrostatic atomizers.

SpraySpy® can be used in the development of new coatings, for quality control of atomizers, for research in spray drying processes, or for direct in-line measurement within production processes.
