Accelerated outdoor exposure – Accelerated Outdoor Weathering
Accelerated outdoor exposure – Accelerated Outdoor Weathering
Accelerated outdoor exposure is achieved by placing samples in specific solar concentrators, while the exposure time is calculated based on the Equivalent Dosage Energy. Atlas Material Testing Solutions, a pioneer also in these technologies, produced the first Equatorial Mount with Mirrors for Acceleration equipment, known as EMMA®, in 1958. This was later followed by EMMAQUA®, UA-EMMA®-EMMAQUA®, LT-EMMA®-EMMAQUA®, UAWS, etc. The accelerated outdoor exposure method is offered at the DSET Phoenix Arizona site, where more than 300 units are in operation, in addition to solar trackers for indirect exposure ID/IP boxes®. The site, managed by the AWSG group, is equipped with an ISO 17025 certified laboratory.
Moderately or ultra-accelerated exposures, with or without temperature control, with or without water spray, with mirrors or reflective optical systems—based on proprietary technology such as CoolMirror Technology or Hybrid—make it possible to apply the best technical solution to obtain reproducible and correlatable results in a short time, consistent with laboratory results and real-life performance. Excellent correlations are achieved with the Florida test.

Quotations
The materials to be exposed in EMMA®-EMMAQUA® series systems must be flat and have dimensions of 2”x5” (or multiples) in order to be fixed in the exposure area. To provide a quotation, it is necessary to fill in a specific form.
Please request it at ATE@urai.it. The cost is per linear cm per day.
